As with all Nikwax products, (except the original tinned wax) they are water based, which means that the waterproof solution goes exactly where it’s needed, therefore avoiding waste, being water based they can be applied to wet or dry footwear and are also safer to use, especially an advantage if you treat your boots indoors! Before you re-proof your outdoor clothing or footwear, you must first clean it. This is not a scam to get you to buy unnecessary products; it’s an integral part of the re-proofing process. After all you wouldn’t wax your car before you’d cleaned it now would you? Nikwax use a simple colour code system: Green for clean and Purple for proof. • Designed for ALL Fabric and Leather footwear. • Provides maximum waterproofing with little or no change to appearance or texture of leather. • Long-lasting waterproofing that conditions without softening. • Water-based formulation is preferentially drawn to areas that need it most. • Breathable treatment is safe to use on footwear with waterproof breathable linings such as Gore-Tex® and waterproof leathers. • For best results, apply to damp leather to treat the areas that water would enter. |
