| Even though synthetic insulating fibres naturally absorb little moisture they can hold substantial liquid within the structure of the knit or weave. This significantly reduces the thermal insulating qualities of the garment. With proper cleaning and the addition of Nikwax Polarproof you can improve the performance of your insulated clothing. Before you re-proof your outdoor clothing or footwear, you must first clean it. This is not a scam to get you to buy unnecessary products; it’s an integral part of the re-proofing process. After all you wouldn’t wax your car before you’d cleaned it now would you?
